ドバイ旅行中に買ったJVCのEverio。ハイビジョン撮影が出来るHDビデオでとても素敵なのだけれど、一つ問題が。なんとiMovie8に対応していないのだ。iMovie HDには対応しているとの事だけれども、そんな古いアプリケーションもう持ってない。ダウングレードしないと読み込めないとは。AppleのサイトでiMovie HDをダウンロードできるとの情報もあったのだけど、すでに期間が終わってしまったのかダウンロードできなくなっていた。とほほ。
ネットサーフィンをしていろいろ迂回策を探したところ、ようやく一つ解決策を発見した。けっこうめんどくさいけれども、なんとか加工可能な形になる。
1. Connect the camera via USB port. It shows up as a external HD on the Desktop.
2. Find the file(s) you wand and drag them to the Desktop
3. Change the file extension from .MOD to .MPG
4. Download the free application - MPEG Slipstream (http://www.squarded5.com)
5. Convert the MPG files to Quicktime movies.
6. Import the files into iMovie.
It's not pretty or elegant, but it works.
